It was my birthday so I made a cake. I was feeling blue, so the colors came out a little different. But I like it.

My first commission, Carly asked for a painting for her dorm room.

Again got caught between realism and intentions for abstraction. that’s ok, it was kind of an experiment. I think I’ll do more dancers.

I think this one speaks for itself.

Always hard to decide what to paint, liked this photo. This is in my comfort zone, really need to break out soon.

I forgot that I like doing charcoal, especially for portraits. Faces are hard, they have to be perfect, and this one isn’t quite… but I’m ok with it. Dusty looks pretty good.

As the news get darker my paintings get brighter. This one is sort of stuck between literal and abstract. It might get more abstract later, not sure if it’s finished. It’s pretty big, 40 x 30.

Another attempt at taking the colors forward. It’s from a nice photo, wish I’d taken it.

I look through photo sites for things to paint, and I liked this one. Trying to find new sorts of ideas, but in the meantime I need to be painting something. Now that I’ve posted it I think it needs a little blending.
