My art and writings
My friend Tim Claytor asked me to do a Sioux chief for his mantle. This is a fairly obscure guy named High Bear with a great scowl.
Another experiment. Ended up looking cosmic. No real objective.
I needed something to paint and I came up with this. Don’t know why. Just seemed like a red-headed drummer needed to be painted. It’s pretty big, 30 x 40.
This is for the kids and their kids.
Here’s the second one I did for Karen’s ugly rec room corner. No longer ugly. I hope.
This one was commissioned for my sister Karen for an ugly spot in her rec room, along with another that is almost done. I hope the spot will look better now.
After I painted the red and the blue nude abstract I realized that I was only painting attractive people. So I decided to paint a less attractive person, but on the way I decided to make her large but still beautiful and happy. Also thought doing some unique coloration would be fun.
Not sure what I’ll do with this one, the family probably thinks it belongs in the garage under the dog crate. But I sort of like it.
So this one started as a vague notion to do a monochromatic abstract. As I did it I realized I wanted a subtle image among the lines. I decided on the naked bodies, because, well, naked bodies. I found that I like painting naked bodies.
I did a companion piece in blue, but it is not good. I’ll keep trying on that one.
This one was for my friend Mark Corrigan from a photo he took. I was trying for a grainy look instead of a smooth blending.
I like doing dancers and athletes. This is a mesh of two photos, with a different background. I think I like it but we’ll see if it improves with age.
